Applications

Silicone lens materials are used to effectively diffuse light emitted from LED chips. Lenses require a certain degree of hardness to maintain their shape and high transparency. They are molded using a precision mold for manufacturing.

Encapsulating LED chips with silicone protects the device from water and dust and increases its durability. Silicone maintains its stability against the heat and light from LEDs, making it an ideal encapsulant. By using highly transparent, high-refractive-index silicone materials, the light extraction efficiency can be improved.

Wacker's thermally conductive silicone products enable efficient and reliable heat management in various applications, including electronics. Our products come in a range of viscosities, curing speeds, and conductivities to meet the thermal management needs of electronic devices across a wide variety of industries.

Optical bonding, also known as optical adhesion, is an effective method for improving visibility. In conventional displays, the air gap between the cover glass and the LCD module creates a difference in refractive index, which causes light to scatter and reduces visibility. By replacing the air layer with silicone, the difference in the refractive index at the interface is reduced, which improves visibility.
