Our Tokyo head office in Uchikanda is home to a team of about 50 diverse professionals, including sales staff with specialized silicone expertise and back-office staff who support our operations. The office is conveniently located, just a 5 to 10-minute walk from JR Kanda Station, Tokyo Metro Kanda Station, Awajicho Station, Takebashi Station, Otemachi Station, and Toei Shinjuku Line Ogawamachi Station. In the Kanda area, which combines a vibrant downtown feel with modern glamour, you'll have no trouble finding great spots for a lunch break or unwinding after work.
The head office utilizes a free address system, encouraging comfortable communication among employees. We've incorporated glass walls for our meeting rooms and private booths to embody Transparency. The interior design features a subtle yet sophisticated color palette, inspiring creativity.

Due to our frequent global interactions, we have robust IT support that eliminates communication barriers with our global colleagues. Our web meeting system was already in place before the pandemic, so the transition to remote work was seamless. With the option to work from home, employees can choose their work location to suit their professional needs and personal lifestyle.
Work Life at TKB
Our Tsukuba Site, a key production base in Japan, is situated in a scenic location adjacent to Tsukuba Science City, offering a close view of Mount Tsukuba—one of Japan’s 100 celebrated mountains. Conveniently located approximately 30 minutes by car from Tsukuba Station, the site is easily accessible for employees commuting from the Tsukuba Express line and surrounding areas such as Shimotsuma.
The facility encompasses more than just a production site. It houses a state-of-the-art Technical Center dedicated to research and development, technology advancement, and quality assurance, as well as a Training Center. Approximately 100 professionals from diverse fields work collaboratively to drive innovation and excellence.
To foster a vibrant workplace culture, the Tsukuba Community Plaza (T-CoP) serves as a welcoming space for relaxation and interaction. Employees can enjoy freshly prepared meals and tea on the wooden deck while listening to birdsong, or engage in conversations in the comfortable cafeteria setting.

Each May, the plant hosts Mai Wies’n, a German-style beer festival that brings together employees and their families from headquarters to celebrate and strengthen connections. Additionally, a robust club activity support program encourages employees to pursue shared interests such as running, golf, fishing, hiking, and winter sports—promoting an active and balanced lifestyle.
Tsukuba Safety Day
"Safety is a Pre-Condition for everything we do.
Safety Day is a global WACKER event designed to raise awareness among all employees about various aspects of environment, health, and safety in the workplace.
At the WACKER Group, the health and safety of our employees are our greatest assets. Our Tsukuba plant has also been holding this event once a year since 2022. Through classroom sessions, group activities like "Discovery Patrols" to check the safety of each area, and hands-on workshops and discussions, employees learn about safety at the Tsukuba plant.

Well-Being
Our company aims to create an ideal environment where psychological safety and mutual respect synergize to promote individual challenges and growth, allowing each employee to feel they are contributing to the company's success. We are implementing various initiatives to achieve this.
We provide support to help new hires acclimate to the organization quickly. We also hold monthly 1-on-1 meetings between employees and their supervisors to build trust and provide a space for discussing various concerns.
To help team members get to know their colleagues in other departments, we organize training sessions and regular tea times for each division. These events are designed to boost internal communication and foster a sense of connection throughout the company.
Our employee council, made up of non-management staff, provides a platform for both management and employees to exchange bottom-up feedback aimed at improving the company and enhancing employee well-being. Going forward, we will continue to promote initiatives that ensure everyone can achieve well-being, supported by various internal surveys.

Diversity
2030, WACKER aim for around one third of management positions to be held by women and half of management positions outside Germany.
Asahi Kasei Wacker Silicone plans to actively promote personnel exchanges to enhance its presence within the WACKER Group by 2030.
It will also aim for around one third of management positions to be held by women.
To achieve these two objectives, we are promoting a personnel exchange and exchange program between Asian regions, conducting diversity awareness training for all employees, promoting flexible workstyle, organizing a Women's Circle, and hiring regardless of nationality or gender
*Management (ourAWS standard): A position with direct reports.

Women's Circle
The AWS Women's Circle was launched in fiscal year 2024 for female employees, following a similar initiative in other WACKER Group countries to deepen networks and create a more comfortable working environment for women.
Using this initiative as a starting point, we are holding study sessions for all employees to learn about our products and the work environment for women in other countries, guided by the motto "Connect, Learn, Accept." We are also conducting workshops on issues and life events specific to women. Through these activities, we aim to create opportunities for building cross-functional networks, improving product knowledge, and fostering mutual understanding.
